Quick yeast question. I have a couple of mr beer recipes, Jamaica Mon, Howling Red, and
Octoberfest deluxe that all use the standard yeast from mr beer. If i substitued say US 05
    yeast for the mr beer...

I can't explain the numbers you are getting from Mr. Malty, but I will sat that Wyeast and
White Labs have no reason to give bad info on their products. If they say one pack is enough, I

Like others have noted, it isn't dry vs liquid. It's all about which strain does what you need
it to. Luckily for my wallet, most of my favorite recipes can be made with dry yeast- but for a
    select fe...

Yes, you can- but using a kg either is less than ideal. If you have a health food store or a
high-end supermarket near you (Whole Foods, whatever) you can buy a jar of Eden Organic Malt
    Syrup, which i...

Only one? Saaz. It isn't my favorite, strictly speaking, but its versatile. I'd rather have an
IPA or an APA made with Saaz than a Belgian or a Lager with American c-hops.
