  • Credit for my interest in homebrewing goes to a homebrewer named Tom who made a lot of kegs I "sampled" at parties I went to in the 80's and 90s that were some of the best beers I had ever tasted and was hooked. I had to learn how to do this! In 1999 Tom walked me through the initial equipment purchase at the Frugal Homebrew and a simple honey-weisse extract brew in the kitchen that my friends thought turned out quite well. For lots of reasons I stopped brewing after that for over 10 years until recently when I recaptured the homebrew bug in late 2009 after visiting Belgium and having the great opportunity to have an off the normal path tour of the Brassiere Dubuisson near the French border along with another coworker who happened to also be into homebrewing so we chatted it up with a very interesting tour guide about hops and sugars they used. Now I'm hooked and finally setup for AG and lagering. >80 Batches To Date.
