I usually just dump everything through a big strainer. You could get a muslin bag and put the
hops in there during the boil. Was the recipe in terms of pellet hops? If so, pellet hops
    generally get bet...

So I went to GABF this year with some friends and had my first experience with sours and other
lambics. I was instantly hooked. My question is when brewing lambics or sours, do you guys
    separate all n...

Hmmm...can't say I've put salt/pepper in any beers. Sounds interesting...

protect it to a degree. Some breweries do completely open fermentations and don't have issues.
    As long as...

  • Posted in thread: dumped lager yeast in my ale on 08-18-2012 at 05:23 PM
A steam beer is a style that uses lager yeasts and ale temps, so I wouldn't worry about it. I
think it'll be pretty cool to see what happens with this!

  • Posted in thread: How long to temp control on 08-18-2012 at 04:44 PM
If you're using ale yeast, I'd think it would be fine at 75 at this point. Like WileE said,
temperature matters most in the beginning of fermentation. After a few days, the yeast have
    generated most o...
