  • I joke that my husband and I have 2 things in common: love of hockey and beer. It's not entirely true, of course, but aside from our dogs, those two are my primary interests. We go to Washington Capitals and Hershey Beats games as often as possible. I also enjoy wine, history, current events, curling up with a good book, good food, and anything on the water. I spend entirely too much time at my local dog park and entirely too much money on beer. My favorite breweries are Bells, Lagunitas, Troegs, Terrapin, Boulder, New Holland, Southern Tier... and many more. I'm a unabashed hop head and in the summers I drink lots of pilsners and Belgian Wits.

  • My husband and I have been interested in craft beer for years. We started brewing just a few months ago after buying a house with an HVAC system that worked consistently. We used a Midwest Brewing grouping to get a Brewer's Best starter kit plus two recipe, and before we ever brewed had invested in a turkey fryer and Better Bottles. After 3 extract kits and a helpful demonstration at a not-so-local nanobrewery/homebrew store, we are about to make the jump to all-grain brewing. We are currently bottling our brews, but plan on getting set up to keg this winter. We're having a blast and are thoroughly hooked.

I'll admit it, I quit early. Found out I was pregnant about 4 weeks in and between morning
sickness and exhaustion I was out of it for months. When I started feeling normal(ish) again, I
    was out of th...

I got Thomas & Rinne while I was not there because I forgot until 10:30. Not happy with missing
all the star forwards, but pretty happy overall. Grabbed Marcus Johansson for $1; it's looking
    like he's...

  • Posted in thread: Non spiced pumkin beer ? on 09-16-2011 at 12:48 AM
I have not made one, but Starr Hill's Boxcar is a pumpkin porter that isn't overly sweet or
spicy. It is super drinkable. So I say go for it; as much as I like the traditional pumpkin
    ales, I think I ...

*hoppy, not choppy. Darn auto correct got me.

Have you seen pictures? The 6-pack looks like a purse, and the bottle has a little black dress
on it. *sigh* I'm right with y'all; never met a beer that was too choppy or bitter, certainly
    not into lo...

I just wish there would be more craft beer at sporting events. Caps games have 1 craft beer
cart per level, compared with BMC every two steps and being hawked by wandering vendors. Even
    Hershey Bears ...

I'm going to give a big +1 to Prevacid. It's available over the counter now and it is amazing.
I had an endoscopy several years ago for gallbladder issues, and when I came to my doctor asked

I'm sort of interested, but I've never done one before, and know my picks would be a joke
:DI've never done one either, you won't be the only newbie.
