  • Been brewing extract off and on for about 7 years.
Finally stepping up to bigger batches(with help) - since, well, 5 gallons is not enough.
Joined when I decided to step up to 25 gallon batches and figured I'd better get some advice before I ruin 3200 fl oz of sweet sweet beer (as if 5 gallons down the drain wouldn't be bad enough).

I will also be brewing 5 gallon "experimental" batches. I hope to hone some skills and get to work on details and perfect my own recipes. In the meantime, I've never met a recipe I didn't like.

My focus is on efficiency, since volume is my goal and time is a commodity.

At the time of joining - I am lining up, piece by piece, the equipment necessary to efficiently brew large batches and will add pictures and feedback along the way.
I'll be moving to All Grain in spring of 2008, not 25 gallon batches right away, though I hope to eventually brew large batches of AG. Hopefully, I'll be able to inspire a few brewers to expand their operations.

About the LME, I've noticed the stuff in plastic is a lot better than the stuff in a can. You
should try it, since LME is a hella lot cheaper than DME.

15 Gallon Conical for less than $75IROC, the shipping was about the same as the cost of the
product. And you will need to buy/build a stand. (the reasons I don't own one right now)

I just started my first batch of Apfelwein on friday. I was surprised how quickly fermentation
took off. And i don't know if it's supposed to but the airlock smells REALLY bad!Just blame it
    on the SWM...
