So what is the best software out there?

ProMash?
BeerSmith?
StrangeBrew?

I'm trying to figure out which one do buy to keep track of each batch that I make as I start my homebrewing adventure.

But also something that will grow with me as my epxerience and knowledge grow so as I get into all grains I can forumulate my own recipes.

I don't find ProMash very helpful for extract or steeped grain batches. Everybody swears by it for all-grain tho. I like BeerSmith for beginner type stuff. If I didn't already have both of those I might be tempted to use The Beer Recipator for now, then move up to promash whenever I start doing all grain.

I use Recipator also.

I like to input all my info (for the calculations) then view the report.

At the view report screen I select all and copy. Then I paste it into a word.doc.

The fields and format stays with the doc so if you add notes the blocks expand with the entries.

That's my recipe library.

I like ProMash, but I really haven't used anything else, besides Recipator. My HBS uses Strangebrew, and that looks like a good piece of software, too.
