Hey there I in in Fed Hill, just poured my first beer out of my homemade keggerator last night...I was enjoying it on my rooftop and unexpectedly got the pregame fireworks show @ M&T...awesome!
I'm about 6 brews deep, all extract except the last one I did...which was a partial mash that I dry-hopped a week ago, but I used deathbrewer's method of a big grain bag in a pot with a few gallons of water that I poured into the brewpot then sparged with more water that had been heated in a second pot. I am of course in a row house and am wondering how anyone else (if you live in the city with limited space) is setup. I want to start AG but I do not know if I have the space or equipment.
So, where's a good place to get a big SS pot?
Where do you get your gas (propane or CO2)?
How about fittings and/or tools?
Do you guys do grain buys ever?
I have a wifey and kids and too many hobbies so I can't get out much, but do you ever have brew days near Baltimore?

- I bought my Bayou Classic 15 Gal SS pot through MDHB. W/a 15% military discount, it was relatively cheap. I drilled my own hole for a ball valve assembly and have had no complaints to date.
- I buy propane at Home Depot. Again, military discount sort of adds up over time.
- For CO2, I bought my kegging system through kegconnections, so I wanted to keep
my bright shiny CO2 bottle. I drive down to Annapolis Homebrew for CO2 refills.


As far as starting AG, my 15 gal brewpot and a $19 55 qt Coleman cooler are plenty for what I'm doing. I made a 2 channel manifold out of CPVC and hooked it up to the outlet for the cooler. Very cheap and very practical set up for batch sparging. I haven't had a bad batch yet and can make 10 gallon batches easily.
