Default Seltzer CO2 level

Anyone know the dif. between club soda and seltzer? Is it the carbonation level? Also what is a good level to carb up a corny keg full of water for selter?

Thanks!

I don't think there is any. There is, however, a difference between tonic water and seltzer/club soda.

What about a good carb level for club soda? 2.0? 2.5?

I run my carbonator at 85 PSI... but its a little different and I am not entirely certain how many volumes of CO2 it winds up at.

Club soda is slightly different from seltzer water. Club soda has mineral-like ingredients added to enhance the flavor. Usually potassium bicarbonate and/or potassium sulfate. It's not much of a difference in taste, IMHO.

If you are looking for club soda you can just add a little baking soda.

When I make seltzer I run at 30 PSI for about a week. It really depends on how cold it is, how long you leave it on the gas, and how carbonated you like it. Start at 30 for 3 or 4 days and go from there.

Cheers,
The Doctor

It's in my 50 degree keezer... I had it at 15psi, I'll bump it up or turn my keezer down 5 degrees... thanks!
