Default Does carbonator work on 20 oz bottles??

I just got a carbonating system and carbonator. I was trying to carbonate 20 oz soda bottles but all of the air was leaking below the threads. Do these bottles not work??? I tried a few different ones of different types.

Also, the pressure in my newly filled, new 5lb tank was only about 550 psi. Is that correct? or did it not get filled correctly?

Thanks, Doug

They have to have the standard PET bottle threads. The only ones I'm aware of are Aquafina. Most manufacturers have switched to the new recyclable caps.

Pressure in a CO2 tank (or any liquified gas) should always be equal to the vapor pressure. That's 550 psi at ~38°F. If your tank is at a different temperature then the gauge is wrong.
