Default where to buy? and what kind for pots in MO.

Hello,

Looking to grow a couple hop plants out of pots in Missouri and train them down a fence.
So was looking at the site freshhops.com and was thinking about starting with Magnum and Nugget varieties.

So does any one have a online source they recommend to by rhizomes and will these varities do any better than others in a pot?

thanks Kevin

I don't think it matters where you get them but from what I've read, the Cascades seem to be the hardiest. I got mine from B Crosby Hops in OR.

Regards,
Alan

My nugget and magnum were both insane! They took over, but I'm in Tulsa, Ok so that might be different.

Online. i just googled hop rhizome and clicked on B Crosby first. I did not even compare prices but i think they are all around 4.50 to $5 per rhizome.

Good Luck & order soon

I got mine this year from nikobrew. They haven't been sent yet, as I'm still a bit away from planting season.

I'm way up north, but my four year cascades have done beautifully! The hallertauer are doing ok, but not producing as much as the cascades have.

This year I'm planting chinook up the clothesline pole (I don't hang clothes out there anyway!) and I'm planting centennial for up a tall fence.

Make sure you keep the varieties separate- they grow very tall, and will try to intertwine with each other if planted close. If they go down a fence, they may bump into each other. You'll never be able to sort them out!

I bought mine from thymegarden.com 2 years ago, I bought cascade, nugget, magnum, Willamette and centennial from them. I don't remember price but they all sprouted but cascades and Willamettes died. And this year I just bought more from freshops <---- still waiting on some kind of delivery tracking number or something
