Default Two hop varieties grew together!

Two years ago I planted Cascade and Sterling, about 3 feet apart. They each grew a little in the first year, really not much. In year two, however, I got pretty good growth pretty much in between the original plantings, and I didn't really get a harvest. This year it is again growing between, and I don't know what it is! I don't know if it's the Cascade, the Sterling, or some of both. Is there any way to tell what I have this early in the season? If I have some of both, I'd like to train them to separate trellises. I know I can just smell the hops when I harvest them to tell, but that will be impossible to separate the crops at that point.

First post, glad to be here.

You should be able to dig with your hands around the shoots and find the rhizome and sort of follow it back to the crown. I had to thin mine out because the cascades were growing into my other plants as well.
