Default Swmbo is going to be pissed!!!

Went to the LHBS to pick up some bottle caps, and priming sugar when i noticed the huge box of rhizomes that showed up that day. I got the pick of the litter, of Cascade, Chinook and Centiennial..I am pretty sure that it won't go over well with swmbo because last year I tricked her into letting me grow my other plants. I.E. Don't tell her you bought rhizomes. Tell her you bought some magic beans. When the hops start winding up the ropes she'll just naturally assume you are growing beanstalks.

See this is the reason why I belong to this forum. That is a damn fine idea.

I bought some rhizomes last year, and then told my SWMBO. She's been wanting to start a garden for years, so I first told her that I'm going to build her a garden. When she got excited about the idea of having a garden, I then told her about my hops. She said "so that's why you're building the garden?" I told her that since she'll be able to plant what she wants, I'll plant what I want, I just won't take up as much space. She accepted the idea, and I went to work.

This year, it looks like I'll have a pretty good crop growing. They're starting to poke their heads out of the ground, and lots of them.

If the "other plants" that she lets you grow are what we all think they are then why would she be upset about growing hops? Hops won't get you any jail time...
