Saaz in DC?

I wanna grow some SAAZ I think Ill get 3 rhizomes of it, and run them up the side of my house (the only part with even 75% light.)

is this a bad idea? will SAAZ grow this far south?

I tried last year, in a different area, but the brutal summer cooked them. (didnt help that I waited till too late to plant)

also, I assume plant at first thaw?

Saaz grows best in Saaz, Czech Republic. Anywhere else you will have a rough time.

Consider growing Sterling. Much easier and more productive.
