Default Need Help Identifying A Problem

I planted my rhizomes in mid May. They took a while to start growing, but then they did very well. Now I am quite concerned about them. As you can see from the pics below, the leaves started turning brown, shriveling up and falling off.

I started applying Sevin spray and doubled up on the watering schedule. They've started to grow again, but the problem doesn't appear to be eliminated.

Any idea what is going on here?
The first pic is Liberty and the second pic is Willamette.

All I see is an eye test.

Try something around 800x600, so we can actually see what's up...

Cheers!

I hope these help. I enlarged the original pics. I wasn't able to get new pics this morning.
Notice the 1.5' to 2' of bare bine in the first pic (Liberty). The leaves shriveled up, turned brown and fell off.

I'm not an expert at growing hops but it looks like yours are just planted in the middle of a yard. It looks like a lot of grass would be competing for nutrients with your hops. Also, that grass looks mighty dry.
