Default Importing Hop rhizomes from the northwest

Hi All,

I'm thinking about buying a few hundred rhizomes from the northwest and plant on my hop farm in Colorado, should I be concerned about infections or dieases.

Pretty much any rhizome has the possibility of introducing a disease/virus to it's new location. Most are phyto-certified from reputable sources, but I don't think it's possible to inspect each and every rhizome that's shipped so it's your call. You can buy virus indexed 'starts' which are a lot cleaner and you'd know that you were starting with good stock. Happy growing!
