Default Hops Problem Help me...

Hello fellow American Homebrewers ...
I had problems with a dealer in hops because I got the non-aromatic accusing me of having them stored in a freezer at -18 ° Celsius.
The retailer says that at -18 ° Celsius oxidize and lose their characteristics.
Having opened a package of frozen SIMCOE vacuum and the aroma was open to zero.
You homebrewers across the ocean as you keep them?
Ray Daniels in his book says that you should be frozen what do you say?
Tnks.

Yes, you should freeze your hops and vacuum seal them if possible.

Here is a nice article for further info: http://morebeer.com/brewingtechnique....1/garetz.html

Take some in the palm of your hand and rub both hands together really fast. Once they warm up a little and those lupulin glands break up they should smell really good. If not, you got some bad hops. Even if they're old they'll at least smell like cheese. Gotta let them warm up a little first though.

I rubbed the hop pellets in the hand and waited a few minutes, then I put the pellet also infused in hot water but do not know any of cheese and any of hops, are odorless.
The seller says it is my fault and that should not be frozen but kept under vacuum between 8 and 16 ° Celsius and Americans so that you do and you have problems.
My Cascade hops Two-year old who is in the freezer is still very aromatic ...
I think the seller here in Italy wants to be clever ...
