Hops drying...
Just want to make sure I didnt dry my hops out to much.

I harvested a gallon bowl full yesterday. I put them in the dehydrator last night...8 hours later that gallon bowl full only weighs 3.5oz.

Did I dry them to much? They still smell great and have a great taste...

Hops are about 80% water when wet, so they will lose a LOT of weight when you dry them.

I don't know that you can dry them too much. I think all you'll do is waste some time drying too long. It would be better to have them very dry than to have extra moisture which can lead to spoilage.

What I heard that makes sense is take one and bend it in the middle. If it snaps the stem in the middle they are dry. It took like 5 days for me. Gonna bag em tonight.
