Default Hopped Up: Cooking With Hops

one of my other intersts is gastronomy. I love food. I read a lot of food blogs.

This just came across my radar.

I may not get a decent enough yield from my first year Cascades and Willamettes this year. They're barely two feet tall. But maybe enough for a salad?

I've tried hops as an asparagus substitute. Couple of things to consider. First low alpha taste better than high alpha. The high alpha is just to bitter, even cooked. Mt hood and cascade are good. My chinook ehk.

Another thing to consider is young "soft" bones are good. Take your end of year cascade, which might have a bone as thick as your finger. That's not chewable. Ut needs to be you first growth early stuff which are thin and soft. Chewable. Points to consider.

Awesome, I have way too many hops. I'll be looking for more ways to "consume" them.
