Here is the Hop Garden Once again..

Question... i have hops coming up about three feet from my original plants... i am removing them, but should i cut back all the roots... worth selling? suggestions are welcome

Oh... and lol... cany anoyone tell me which hops these are... I think this one is warrior

and this one? Perle?

thanx

Sorry for the lack of input but do you happen to have a picture of your garden with full grown vines. Looks like you made the most out of a small space.

I really like your setup. How deep did you have to go with the poles and where do you get telephone poles?

It looks like you have some kind of black weed-barrier on top of the soil. If you can peel that back you'll be able to trace the rhizomes back to the mother plants. They just love to creep out in that type of situation and will go a very long way if you don't beat them back on a yearly basis. They would probably make sellable rhizomes but it sure is nice to be able to sell a known variety to someone, haha! Good luck.

i was thinking of ripping the barrier completeyly out... thanx guys... I am adding about 20 more plants.... I ordered Citra Rhizomes from a guy here... cost me $1200 havent heard from him and phone disconnected... is that bad... lol

Leave the barrier in, The weeds grow quick on mine. B-Hoppy is right about lifting the barrier, you will be surprised how many roots/rhizomes there are. How can 20 plants cost 1200? Just curious.

I think the dy-no-mite may have something to do with it. I really appreciate stuff like that Dan! 7 new varieties coming soon~

lol... absolutely... i have 3 or 4 sticks ready

oh the poles are in the ground 8 feet... i have a friend that works in the industry so i got used ones for free/.. 35 feet high... they work great...

Wait, are you all saying that I haven't used dynamite in farming? OK, my grandpa wouldn't let me light the fuse but...nothing gets rid of a stump faster than a stick or two.

Works great on groundhogs also!
