Default Hop storage - Bags, foil etc.

Hi…

I’m about to split up my bulk hops in smaller portions.

I’ve been looking for a fitting bag, Mylar is not that accessible in Europe, so I was thinking something like these: Freshield 20 x Vacuum Pack Bags 185 x 280mm @ Juiceland.co.uk

Seems to be 5 layered: (PE/PE/Tie/PA/PA). Will these be oxygen barrier then?

Or would an alternative be to wrap the pellets in aluminum foil and then put them in the vacuum bag and seal?

I used an entire evening reading and looking for bags online, but haven’t gotten much wiser regarding the packaging, so hopefully some of out that store hops in the fridge will be able to help.

I have quite an amount that needs to be packed (aprox. 100lbs), so will have to be sure that it will work and I will not find myself throwing away half of it in a year or so.

I store hops in a dedicated freezer at 0 to minus 1F.

Looks like a double oxygen/odor barrier (PE/PE) and a double water vapor barrier (PA/PA). Double layers are used to reduce curling and peeling.

Is that not exactly what the mylar bags do too, except for the added UV protection then?
