Default Hop Shoots as Food

http://www.allaboutbeer.com/food/hops.html

Has anyone tried them? I have second year Cascade and Cenntenial plants that are already sending up a lot of shoots. I like the idea of using them in salads.

I also saw that Hops Direct used to sell pickled hop shoots, but they don't have them listed on their website anymore.

They are kind of like asparagus, but less good.

Interesting..... I had been wondering if hops or anything from the hop plants were used for cooking. I will be doing more research on this for sure.

Do they have a flavor that resembles the hop in brewing or is just vegetable-like such as asparagus?
