Default Hop rhyzomes after first year??

I planted hops last year and had a pretty good first year with them. Can I expect to have to seporate some rhyzomes from the original plants after one year??

I have done so with some success. I took 2 cuttings off a one year old cascade root and one rhizome grew, and the other did not. My now 5 year old rootball is giving me all the rhizomes I want and they all grow fine.
So, yes, you can do it-just may not be 100% sucessful

It will be easier to transplant successfully and you'll have more to transplant if you wait 2 years before dividing. That said if you feel you need/want to divide this year, go ahead.
