Why do you want to glycol jacket a mash tun if I may ask?

Well I was talking to my dad about a HERM's system. He worked for a stainless tank manufacture and built huge fermenters and jacketed tanks. By doing a glycol jacketed mash tun and then building a elec heat element like for a rims but put it in line from water heater this will allow a constant flow of 150+ water straight into the mash tune. With a jacketed mash tun I can maintain temp and just recirculate through one vessels. This would make a two vessel setup Mash tun and boil kettle. If that didn't make since let me know. My pops can weld any thing so, I deal with sheet metal every day, and can get stainless rolled and broke to make any thing I can draw. So 50gal conical's as well as the jacketed mash tun

Thanks for the responses
My set up gets used weekly I have three friends that want to go all grain cause of brewing at my house. But since they aren't setup they brew at my house 25 gal in the last 4 weeks

I'm familiar with HERMS and glycol, it just seems a different way to heat something up. Generally oil is used for heat transfer and glycol is used for cooling due to their different properties.
I was just curious of your plans.

Well glycol is good for both heat and cold transfer. I use glycol in boiler systems all the time for heat transfer and it works great. My dad has worked on tanks that use glycol to cool or heat a tank to maintain perfect temp. I am also goi g to insulate it with a 1" 8lb ceramic high temp insulation as the last wrap so maintaining will be easy.
