Default what formula does beersmith use to calculate IBU's?

Their IBU estimates are different than in "Brewing Classic Styles"

I think the book uses rager, I was just wondering what beersmith's default is and if I can change it.

Default

I think it defaults to Tinseth. I don't have it on the computer I'm using right now, so I can't tell what steps to take to change it, but it can be changed.
