Default ProMash Mash Efficiency Calculator

Just a little note out there for people who use ProMash and get some odd efficiency calculations. If you are adding items such as honey or candi sugar, or anything else with sugar content after you take your gravity reading for mash efficiency calculations, your value will be artificially low.

This happened to me twice, first with candi sugar that I added at the start of the boil, then with honey added at flameout. Both times I took my gravity reading after my sparging was finished and got lower than normal mash efficiency. I was prepared to do a longer than normal boil today to hit my target gravity but I remembered about not adding in the honey yet. After temporarily removing the honey from the ingredients I got my true mash efficiency, and I was right on target with my last batches.
