Netbooks not supported by BeerTools?
Unless I find some contrary information, it appears that BeerTools does not support 1024 x 600 resolutions typical of netbooks.
The upshot is that the ingredients search window cannot be sized so that you can use it. This makes creating new recipies impossible.

Unfortunately there is no workaround. The minimum screen resolution for BeerTools Pro 1.5 is 1024 x 768. When designing the interface we conducted a survey of typical screen resolutions in use and found that most people use 1024 x 768 or higher. You can view the results here: http://www.beertools.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3459
This is going to make it difficult for users of netbooks. These are a new class of small cheap laptops that are very popular (Eee PC, Acer Aspire One, Dell 9). Netbooks typically have a resolution of 1024x600. These computers also happen to be great for bringing to your brew area as the are very small and light and have good battery life.
I don't know how many copies of the software you sell, but your sample size for that survey was very small and likely has a large standard deviation (margin of error). The software does seem nicely polished so its a shame some users will not be able to use it.

Must be... I used BeerSmith on my laptop.
But that is pretty stupid they can't work around it. It's not THAT hard to resize the window based on the screen resolution.

My wife has an Acer One. I'll give it a shot this weekend.

Set up a remote desktop/run a VBox instance with a higher screen resolution, then connect in windowed mode.

My wife loves her netbook. I have trouble typing on the itty-bitty keyboard, but she has trouble on full sized ones since she's so itty-bitty herself.

Yea. The goal of the netbook is to keep it minimal.
I can also remote to desktop in places that in places that have WiFi, but that's not always an option.
