Default Beer Smith Recipe Export Question

Can a recipe specifications and profiles be exported from BeerSmith to an excel spreadsheet? I would like to see if things such as times, temperature settings, etc can be exported. Thanks

The BrewLog can be exported to Excel, but I've never tried to do it with an entire recipe. Try right-clicking in various places and see if you can get it to work.

Alternatively, go to the BeerSmith website and post this question in the Support Forum. BeerSmith himself will answer your question.

Well I don't have the software yet. I downloaded the demo at work to take a look, but erased at the end of the day and I didn't try it.

Hi,
BeerSmith does export BeerXML format data for recipes, which can be imported into Excel with some work.

Alternately (and probably easier) would be to just create a custom report template with the data you want (see examples in the C:\Program Files\BeerSmith\templates directory). You could then control the format and import this right into excel.

Cheers!
Brad

I actually would like to export the recipe parameters into my automation program, Azeotech DAQ Factory, so that the appropriate settings will set. I'll see if DAQFactory will read XML.

Hi,
Even if it won't read XML, you can create your own custom recipe report templates to export the data to HTML, text or XML. Basically you can create a template much like any of the templates in the C:\Program Files\BeerSmith\templates directory.

Here's a list of the tags you can use (also any of the BeerXML tags can be used) in any format (HTML or text report templates):

Cheers!
