dunno about a show mead. if it's a honey that's hard to obtain/find, then maybe something that's a bit more guaranteed to give a result, like a medium traditional.
Show meads can take forever and there's no guarantee of a drinkable or reasonable result.
Still, it's your honey/choice.....
