Partial - Double Ale
Recipe Type: Partial Mash Yeast: US-05 Yeast Starter: None-pitched 2 packets Batch Size (Gallons): 5 Original Gravity: 1.082 Final Gravity: 1.017 IBU: 47 Boiling Time (Minutes): 60 Color: 13.5 Primary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 21 @ 64 Secondary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 21 @ 68-70 Tasting Notes: Good balance of malt and hops, slightly sweet with a crisp finish.
This is the first recipe I've brewed where I didn't feel a need to tweak it. It is loosely inspired by one of my favorite beers: Rogue's Double Dead Guy. Came out a beautiful deep clear amber. Side by side with Dbl DG, this one has both less bitterness (47 IBU vs. Rogue's 60) and is a bit less malty.
