All-Grain - Hay Gurl Hoppy American Farmhouse
Recipe Type: All Grain Yeast: 670 Yeast Starter: Yes - 650ml Batch Size (Gallons): 4.6 Original Gravity: 1.067 Final Gravity: 1.013 IBU: 35.5 Boiling Time (Minutes): 90 Color: 5.2 Primary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 44 Tasting Notes: Big fruity dry hop, interesting meld of saison, Brett flavors creeping in, & hops.
This has been very well received and is entered in SNAFU's competition (in Las Vegas) on 10/20. I recently re-brewed it with only a few minor changes.
Grain Bill:
4.5lb 2row
4.5lb German Pils
1.25lb White Wheat
0.5lb Honey Malt
0.5lb Table sugar (added at 5 min left in boil)
BIAB
Mash Schedule: 148 for 40min, then 156 for 30min
Mash out at 170 for 15min
Hop Schedule:
60m - 0.2oz Apollo 18AA
10m - 1oz Centennial 10.5AA
5m - 1oz Simcoe 12.9AA
0m - 1.9oz Citra, 0.6oz Centennial, 0.5oz Simcoe
Dry Hops - 1.1oz Centennial, 0.9oz Amarillo, 0.6oz Simcoe, 0.3oz Columbus, 0.3oz Citra, 0.2oz Riwaka (your standard fruity hop kitchen sink addition) for 12 days
Water was all filtered Vegas tap topped up with 0.5gal RO.
My second time around I replaced the Simcoe @5m with Centennial, upped the flameout addition, & shot for an OG of 1.052 to make it more sessionable. I'll report back as to how that turns out. |
