Recipe Type: Extract Yeast: White Labs Belgian Wit WLP400 Yeast Starter: not neccesary but can't hurt Batch Size (Gallons): 5 Original Gravity: 1.053 Final Gravity: 1.008 Boiling Time (Minutes): 60 Primary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 10days @ 68°F Additional Fermentation: The beer is quite good gree, but gets better after a month Secondary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 7days @ 68°F
6# Wheat Dry Extract
8 oz. clear candi sugar
1 oz Hersbrucker at 60 minutes
.25 oz Bitter Orange Peel after 45 min boil
.25 oz Coriander after 45 min boil
White Labs Belgian Wit WLP400
This is very much like a "Blue Moon" clone, but I've found that the belgian candi sugar makes the beer a touch dryer and it has slight alcohol bite when compared to the same recipe without the candi (what I would call a blue moon clone). |
