What are your thoughts about adding coriander to the recipe? I've got some around and always see them included in wheat beers. I'm also using US-06 Belgian wheat yeast

Thanks

I think it will work out well, especially with the Belgian yeast. Actually in my early stages of formulating this recipe I had a variation that included some coriander.

Obviously it won't be an American wheat anymore but a nice Belgian Wit none the less.

I say try it and posts the results

Did you add the orange zest strictly to the end of the boil? or did you also add it to the primary?

thanks for any help! going to be brewing this one up in a few days...

I add the zest only in the boil (last 5 minutes). I do this to make sure the peels are sanitized. I am sure it would be ok to add at flameout, but I just feel better throwing them in the boil for a few minutes. Cheers!

I think the coriander will pair well in this recipe. I am a bit surprised that your batch came out too dark for you. Did you use regular Munich malt (10 lovibond) or a darker Munich (20 lovibond)?

I really appreciate the feedback and would like to know what type of orange flavor you were looking for. Like Blue Moon or Shock Top?

What about adding 1 lb of orange blossom honey at flameout? Would that be good?

Depends on what you are trying to do with it. It will increase the ABV to about 6.5% and dry the finish out a tad. You may get some flavor out of it, but I don't think you will get alot. I feel any honey flavor will just be masked by the oranges.

I only get about 70% efficiency from my setup. So it should put it right in line. Then what do you recommend upping to get my Abv up? More wheat?
