Recipe Type: All Grain Yeast: WLP004 Yeast Starter: 1 pint Batch Size (Gallons): 5.5 Original Gravity: 1.067 Final Gravity: 1.013 IBU: 60 Boiling Time (Minutes): 90 Color: 10 Primary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 5 days, 70-72F Secondary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 8 days, 70F

1.5 oz Northern Brewer Plug 8.0% - 90 min
0.5 oz Hallertau Plug 5.0% - 90 min (these should have been Fuggles, but I was out)
0.5 oz Kent Golding Plug 5.5% - 90 min
0.5 oz Kent Golding Plug 5.5% - 10 min
0.5 oz Kent Golding Plug 5.5% - flameout
0.5 oz Kent Golding Plug 5.5% - DH 8 days in secondary
Added 3T Gypsum to 11 gallons mash/sparge water (Ca ~250 pm, SO4 ~600 ppm)
Mash in with 13q H20 @ 169F
Mash @ 152 for 90 min (aimed for 60, but conversion tests were unclear)
Fly sparged to collect 7.0 gallons at 1.050
Boiled 90 min
Pitched yeast @ 72F
After 5 days in glass primary, racked to glass secondary with dry hops
After 8 days in secondary, racked to keg
Conditoned 5 weeks in keg
Chilled and force carbed
OG 1.062
FG 1.016
IBU 62
ABV 5.9 %
SRM 11
Efficiency 70%
Attenuation 75% |
