Default All-Grain - Phat IPA

Recipe Type: All Grain
Yeast: Nottingham
Yeast Starter: No
Batch Size (Gallons): 5.5
Original Gravity: 1.060
Final Gravity: 1.014
IBU: 61
Boiling Time (Minutes): 60
Color: 7 SRM
Primary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 21 @ 68*F
Secondary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): No
Tasting Notes: Very tasty IPA with good, but not overpowering bitterness balanced by nice malt

I didn't have a name for this until my friends started requesting the recipe so they could brew it. They dubbed it "Phat IPA" since my nickname back in college was J-Phat.

The result is a hoppier version of SNPA.

9.5 lbs 2-row
0.5 lb Munich
0.5 lb Crystal 60L
0.25 lb Victory
0.25 lb Carapils

Single infusion, mash (1.25 qt/lb) at 154*F for 60 minutes. No mash out, double batch sparge with 188*F water

1 oz Columbus (15.4% AA) - 60 min
0.5 oz Cascade (5.5% AA) - 15 min
0.5 oz Williamette (5.5% AA) - 15 min
0.5 oz Cascade (5.5% AA) - 5 min
0.5 oz Williamette (5.5% AA) - 5 min

Nottingham Dry Yeast

Ferment for at least 21 days.

Enjoy!
