So, an update - the beer's FG was 1.017 after 3 weeks in primary.. putting this at a "healthy" 7.9% ABV. Surprisingly, the alcohol flavor isn't too pronounced, and the bitterness is just at the right level, but a bit harsh still (it's only been carbing 3 days). I blend it with my Dunkelweizen about 75/25 to 90/10 and it tastes wonderful. I think mostly it's the extra carbonation from the older beer.
