So is this supposed to be a clone of Nogne O (o's with the line through them)'s Imperial Stout?

Apparently someone caught onto the Naked Island thing as more than just a catchy name

It is loosely based on it, yes. Clone, well it's been awhile since I had it so I really can't say. Before Nogne O Imperial Stout I didn't like stout beers at all. So one day at the store I went on a limb and grabbed theirs since I never tried an imperial. Loved it! Fortunately they had their ingredients on the side of the bottle and so I omitted a few of them (hop variety and a couple of grains) and added a few of my own. Tried to stay close to their ABV and IBU.

Good eye though! I'd give you a pint if you were closer to the murder mitten!

500 looks and nobody has brewed this one?

This beer has aged wonderfully. A great winter warmer!

Where in the mitten are you? I'm on the west side. This looks like a good recipe. Once I get some brews under my belt I'll try to make the switch to AG.

I'm looking on making the switch to AG soon, and SWMBO loves stouts, especially BIG ones Did you put this in a secondary, and how long did you have it racked before drinking?

Sorry, I didn't see this post until now! I actually fine tuned the recipe a bit to have less bitterness, roast character, and body. It actually turned out even better! I updated the recipe. I didn't do a secondary, just let it ferment out and then kegged it. It's been about 3 months since I brewed it and it's delicious! Everyone, including people who love stouts and hate them, have really enjoyed this beer. All have found it very drinkable and have said that it tastes like sweetened espresso. I'm going to enter it in a few competitions this coming year and see how it fares and tweak it if need be. The recipe kind of started out at a clone attempt but has evolved into something all my own.
