I can't believe how good this beer is. The mouthfeel is like liquid velvet. Even at 78 IBU, the malts come through incredibly well. Very pleasant coffee/chocolate tones. My only disappointment is with the head retention... there is none. But I guess that's purely aesthetic. I like to let the beer warm up to the mid 40's to 50. It really brings out the flavor. |
Brewed this again today with a few minor changes. Namely, I used .75oz Magnum @60 minutes instead of Warrior, and I used 2oz Willamette @10 minutes. Here's today's rundown:
