Very light quaffer. BMC drinkers would like this one.
10-lbs American 2-row
1-oz uk fuggles
Mashed at 148-F with 4 gallons strike water for 90 minutes.
Batch sparged with 3 gallons water also at 148-F. for 20-30 minutes.
1-oz uk fuggle right after hot break settled down. ( 60 minutes )
whirflock tablet at 15 minute mark
rapidly chilled to pitching temp and pitched 1 Nottingham packet.
I now have a college dorm soda cooler for a fermentation chamber.
@ its lowest/warmest setting it sits @ 55-F.Primary for 7-8 weeks.
Racked to keg and force carbed for a week before drinking.
This beer would be good for somebody whom likes the BMC styles and is just getting into all grain brewing.I am not a huge fan of BMC styles but feel it is important to do SMASH brews fairly often.I personally felt this was a bland and unexciting beer,which is also how i feel about BMC however this beer didn't want me to gag like BMC does (i'n not a fan of corn/rice in beer)
Perhaps a more aggressive hop schedule would improve this beer but i was just going for easy/simple on this one.
