Default Slim's Damn Her Amber

Recipe Type: All Grain
Yeast: Coopers Ale
Yeast Starter: Yes or 2 packets
Batch Size (Gallons): 5
Original Gravity: 1.060
Final Gravity: 1.012
IBU: 46.1
Boiling Time (Minutes): 60
Color: 14.9
Primary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 21 DAYS
Tasting Notes: It\'s got a carmel sweetness, with a citrus punch and a hoppy kick!!!

If you have ever wanted to know what the bastard child of Newcastle and Sierra Nevada would look like, well here it is! It's strong enough for a Man, but its sweet/smooth enough to tell your wife that you made it for her!

  • ALL GRAIN VERSION
  • ----GRAIN BILL----
  • 8LBS MARIS OTTER
  • 1LB Caramel Munich 60L (Briess)
  • 0.5LBS Carapils (Briess)
  • MASH 158 FOR 60 MINUTES
  • AT BOIL ADD 1LB OF DARK BROWN SUGAR
  • AT BOIL ADD 10Z SORACHI ACE
  • AT BOIL ADD 1OZ OF CASCADE HOPS
  • AT 20 MINUTES ADD 0.50 OZ OF SORACHI HOPS
  • AT 20 MINUTES ADD 0.50 OZ OF CASCADE HOPS
  • AT 12 MINUTES ADD 1OZ OF GRATED GINGER ROOT
  • AT 7 MINUTES ADD 0.50 OZ OF SORACHI ACE HOPS
  • AT 7 MINUTES ADD 0.50OZ OF CASCADE HOPS
  • AT 5 MINUTES ADD 1OZ OF SWEET ORANGE PEEL
  • -----COOL-----
  • ADD COOPERS ALE YEAST, 2 DRY PACKETS OR A PREPARED STARTED MADE THE DAY BEFORE
  • -----EXTRACT GRAIN BILL-----
  • 4LBS OF PALE LIQUID EXTRACT
  • ADD CARAPILS AND CARMEL MALT TO GRAIN BAG, BRING TO 158 FOR 60 MINUTES, THEN BRING TO BOILD AND ADD BROWN SUGAR AND HOPS
