All-Grain - Redhook Copperhook
Recipe Type: All Grain Yeast: WLP041 Yeast Starter: 1500 Batch Size (Gallons): 5.5 Original Gravity: 1.054 Final Gravity: 1.010 IBU: 20 Boiling Time (Minutes): 75 Color: 11 Primary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 28 Additional Fermentation: lagered unitentially while I waited for a open tap Tasting Notes: That classic taste of the northwest!
89% 2-row
7% Crystal 120
4% Cara-pils
For a 5.5 Gallon batch with 82% efficiency that would be
8.81 lbs 2-row
.7 lb C120L
.4 lb Cara-Pils
1 oz of Willametter 5.5% @ 60
.5 oz of Sazz 4% @ 10
1500ml starter for the WLP041
The key is to mash low since this yeast has an average attenuation of 67.5% and this beer finishes dry. I mashed at 150* and went from 1.054 to 1.010
This is very close. I did a side by side with the original and could not pick the original blind folded. They say it is a 11 SRM on their website, but the original was lighter in color by a couple SRM though. |
