Default Imperial Virgin IPA

Recipe Type: All Grain
Yeast: Wyeast 1056
Yeast Starter: 1 liter
Batch Size (Gallons): 5
Original Gravity: 1.060
Final Gravity: 1.013
Boiling Time (Minutes): 75
Color: 10 SRM
Primary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 2
Secondary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 1

Grain Bill

11 lbs Pale Malt
9.5 ozs Flaked Barley
9.5 ozs Carastan Malt
1 oz Chocolate Malt

Hop Bill

5 ozs Centennials
4 ozs Cascades

Mash Schedule

Dough in at 40 C with 6 Quarts for 20 minutes

Mash in at 68 C with an additional 7 Quarts for 60 mins

Sparge Schedule

Sparge with 4 gallons at 77 C

Boil and Hop Schedule

Boil for 15 mins then add 2 Ozs of Centennials.

At 30 mins add 1 oz Centennials and 1 oz Cascades.

At 45 mins add 1 oz Centennials and 1 oz Cascades.

Dry hop with remaining 3 ozs of hops after 4 days of fermentation.

Cool and pitch with starter.
