Default Creamcicle Party Ale

Recipe Type: Partial Mash
Yeast: WYeast 1056
Yeast Starter: Yes
Batch Size (Gallons): 5.5
Original Gravity: 1.0568
Final Gravity: 1.0111
IBU: 16.1
Boiling Time (Minutes): 60
Color: 5.7
Primary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 8 @ 68-70
Secondary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 14 @ 68-70

3lbs Multons Plain Extra Light DME
3lbs Breiss Light Pilsner DME
.5lbs CaraFoam
.5lbs Honey Malt

1oz Cascade 4.5aau
Peel of one tangerine minced
1/2 vanilla bean split and halved

Mashed at 158 for 30min
Sparged with 3 gallons 170deg water
added DME

.8oz hops at 60min left
.1oz hops at 20min left
one large pinch IrishMoss at 15min left
peel and vanilla in bag at 5min left
.1oz hops at 2min left

pulled out vanilla and peel at of primary and put them into secondary as well.
Very strong honey aroma and taste. alcohol is almost overpowering but nice and warm

If you used the entire tangerine peel it may be overly bitter. Next time just scrape the outer layer of the peel and use that

just the zest huh. imagine that would be better now that you say it. I think it might of added alot of bitterness but the honey malt basically overpowered it I think. I can taste the orange but it very gentle
