Default CascAdePA (AG)

Recipe Type: All Grain
Yeast: Nottingham
Yeast Starter: none
Batch Size (Gallons): 5
Original Gravity: 1.049
Final Gravity: 1.012
IBU: 34 (Rager)
Boiling Time (Minutes): 60
Color: 5.7 SRM
Primary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 7 days @ 66F
Secondary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 10 days @ 57F

This was somewhat inspired by EdWort's Haus Ale.
I wanted a beer with only Cascade hops and a huge hop flavor without killing myself with bittereness. I think it turned out pretty well.

8 lbs. US 2-row
2 lbs. Munich (10L)
8 oz. Caramel 10L
8 oz. Carapils
(SG calculated at 70% efficiency)

Hops:
All Casade, all 6.9%AA
0.5 oz. First Wort Hopped (pellet)
0.5 oz. 20 min (pellet)
1.5 oz 15 min (whole)
0.5 oz 5 min (whole)
1 oz Dry Hopped (pellet)

Mash 1.25qts/lb at 152F for 1 hour. Sparge as usual.

Notes: I used whole hops for some of the later additions, probably won't do that again in the future until I develop a better way to get the wort out of the kettle; I lost a lot more wort than I was planning on.

I bottled at 68F and primed with 4oz. corn sugar. It has been in bottles for 6 days, nice carbonation, can only imagine what it will taste like in a couple weeks.
