All-Grain - Kölsch
Recipe Type: All Grain Yeast: WLP029 Kölsch/Alt yeast Yeast Starter: 2L Batch Size (Gallons): 5 Original Gravity: 1.046 Final Gravity: 1.008 IBU: 24.38 Boiling Time (Minutes): 60 Color: 4.2 Primary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 7 days at 60F Secondary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 7 days at 55F Tasting Notes: Light/Crisp
6.5 Pounds Pilsner Malt
1.5 pounds Red wheat
Mash 1.5L water per Lb malt at 150F for 60 mins
1 oz hallertau 60 min 4.75 AA
0.5 oz hersbrucker 15 min 4.5 AA
0.5 oz hersbrucker 5 min 4.5 AA
After fermentation, run through plate filter. Ideal beer is crystal clear. Be sure to keep fermentation slightly cool for an Ale. It's almost a lager. |
