All-Grain - Czech Pilsner
Recipe Type: All Grain Yeast: WLP802 Budejovice Yeast Starter: 2L Batch Size (Gallons): 5 Original Gravity: 1.047 Final Gravity: 1.008 IBU: 40.1 Boiling Time (Minutes): 90 Color: 3 Primary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 10 days at 50F Additional Fermentation: After primary, rest at 70F for 2 days Secondary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 30 days at 40F Tasting Notes: Crisp, hoppy
1 Lb Cara Pils
7 Lbs Bohemian Pils
Tripple decoction mash.
Start at room temperature.
Heat mash to 95F by adding 8 Quarts boiling water.
For each of the 3 decoctions, pull about 1/3 of the barley from the kettle, and bring to boil, while stepping at 125, 145, 167 F for a 10 minute step.
Return each decoction to main mash to step the overall temperature at 110F, 145F and 162F.
