I have to ask. Pasties. Is that pronounced like the things that strippers used to wear? I haven't encountered them before, but they look tasty.

Well, all this talk about pasties made me hungry- so I went to the kitchen and made some. They are baking now, and smell so good! I didn't have any rutabagas (go figure) but I was able to find just about everything else I needed. I used cubed venison instead of ground beef. In an hour- they'll be done!

Well, believe it or not- BOOM! Gone! My kids said they weren't hungry, but I picked them up while the pasties were in the oven and once they came in the door they were smitten. Just a little 1/2 pastie left for my lunch tomorrow! Not one picture.

Yep. Venison. Small chunks, not ground. It was good, but it'll be a while before we have them again. I used a stick and a half of butter in the crust.........I'll have to wait until my arteries unclog before I make them again.
