Well, there IS football on tonight, if you needed a reason to make it. And real football, not this sissy preseason stuff we've been seeing for the past month.

As for no beans in chili, this is one of the Texas cuisine things I don't get, no beans = spicy spaghetti sauce to me

I'm with IP on this one, sour cream on chili is like putting blue cheese or ranch dressing on wings. My bil tried to feed me the "flavor enhancer" line when we ordered atomic wings. He ordered ranch w/ his. I told him he was a wuss, the dairy just knocks down the "heat profile". What is the point of doing that?

OH, and GO STEELERS!!

Good times.
Good times indeed. It's a tradition, we start and end the NFL season with some chili and beers! As well as a few Sundays in between...

As far as beans go, I like beans...but I prefer my chili without. (the correct, Texas way).

Go Pack by the way, Aaron Rogers is racking me up some serious fantasy points.

I'm emailing the wife to remember to pick up chilli fixins for this coming Sunday. It's going to be a rotten Monday...

Already covered in the the Sherry household, I got the fixings yesterday after reading this thread. We have a Boy Scout camp out this Saturday looks like it will be a cold and wet one. I think I'll make the chilli this evening and have it ready when we get home Sunday!
