Default Yuri's Brew Yurt (Hut)

It's about 5 months behind the timeline I envisioned, but I FINALLY got started on the brew hut! The walls are framed. Sheathing and rafters are on tomorrow's schedule.

I plan on running electricity to it, insulating it well, and drywalling/tiling the interior. I have a decent window A/C to cool it. Plumbing is likely beyond my budget. It's not quite Ed's palace, but it's mine, and I can't wait to finish it!

Very cool. How big is it? Looks like 10x10 or 10x12 to me

It's 12'x12'. I was a little surprised at how much that slab appeared to "grow" when I put 8' walls on it!

I envy you guys... I live in a tiny apartment.

Why do you need plumbing? It looks like you could just drag a garden hose over there. Just tap into your perimeter drain and you are set.

Today's progress:

The door is partially blocked to keep the dog out. With the sinus infection/cold that I have, building trusses today turned out to be a bit over-ambitious. There's always next weekend...

With any luck, the inaugural brew will be sometime this summer.

Make sure to put a good lock on the door. The last thing you want is the neighbourhood delinquents to get wind of a bunch of beer locked up in a lonely shed in your backyard. Maybe a beer alarm...
