Hey guys. I am wanting to weld a coupling on a 15.5 gal. keg for a MLT and need some advice on exactly where to position the fitting. I plan on using SS hinged false bottom but I'm not sure how far from the bottom weld I should put the fitting. Anyone that can offer some advice?

I probably will add another coupling for a thermometer, but I'm guessing the position for this is not too critical.

Are you looking to direct fire it? If not, put the coupling in the bottom.

Thanks Bobby, I hadn't thought of a fitting in the bottom. I'm not planning to direct fire so that makes sense. Actually a half coupling might be best.
