Loaded question I know. Really the question could be how big of a room can be reasonably cooled by a window A/C unit.
Here are some qualifiers:
How big are your batches? Are you sure you want to cool them with ambient air if you brew 15 gallon batches or more?
How big is the window?
How many BTU window unit I think he is asking.
Sorry guys, I don't have the unit yet. I am planning on whatever I can find on clist at the moment. Assume cheap and smallish. (There's a joke in there somewhere!)
Click the thread in my sig. You can make something like I did, which can be cooled by even the ****tiest AC unit, like mine. Fits 9+ carboys, so unless you are a brewing fanatic I think you'll be fine.
Peep my nanobrewery: http://crookedrunbrewing.com
On tap at the brewery:
Logan's Song English pale
Hopsail Belgian single
Hellfire Black IPA
Summer Night raspberry dark saison
Crooked Run Brewing: Traditional ales, local ingredients
How do you fit 9 carboys in a 4x4x4 cube? Thanks for the encouragement though.
